When you put the SD card in the Pi and plug it in to your computer (use the left USB port where the USB connectors are on the bottom), it should show up as an ethernet device. At this point, we’re basically done with setup, but we still need to connect to the Pi. Now we’re ready Put the SD card in the Pi, plug in the Pi, and give it a minute to boot up and connect to the wifi.
